Edwards welcomes President Trump to WNC

U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) today issued the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Western North Carolina:

“I welcome President Trump back to our mountains, and am honored to accompany him to see the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene and our efforts to clean up and rebuild.

“By making this the first official trip of his presidency, President Trump is keeping his promise to the people of Western North Carolina that we are not forgotten.

“I was pleased to have authored the bill appropriating $110 billion toward our recovery, and will fight for every possible dollar of it to come to Western North Carolina.

“I intend to show President Trump the progress we are making, the unwavering resilience of the people of WNC, and why there is a dire need to overhaul FEMA.”
