Edwards travels over a thousand miles in WNC in August listening to constituents
Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) today revealed that he traveled nearly 1,300 miles across Western North Carolina during the House’s August district work period.
This includes Carolina Cruiser mobile office visits, and visiting farms, factories, stores, churches and community events to listen to constituents’ concerns. His meetings varied from discussing local law enforcement challenges and farmers’ priorities to awarding veterans with war medals that they earned but had not yet received.
North Carolina’s sprawling 11th District – which Edwards represents – ranges from Rutherfordton all the way to Murphy.
Edwards said: “During the month of August, I had the pleasure of meeting with hundreds of Western North Carolinians to discuss their concerns and assist with casework. Hearing directly from constituents about the challenges WNC families and communities are facing allows me to know how I can best serve folks and see if there are federal solutions to help address these issues.
“Being accessible to WNC constituents will always be my top priority, and our district’s sprawling size shouldn’t prevent any constituent from making their voice heard or receiving help from the federal government.”
