Edwards seeks updates on Charles George VA Medical Center data breach
U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) today called for an update from Asheville’s Charles George VA Medical Center regarding the May data breach at the facility.
In a letter to the medical center’s leadership, Edwards also wants to know what measures have been taken to improve the hospital’s data security.
Edwards released the following statement:
“In the three months since the data breach at the Charles George VA Medical Center, I’m calling on local VA leadership to provide updates on their investigation‘s findings and on what measures they have taken to protect veteran patients’ sensitive information. That should be a top concern for any VA medical center, and I’ll continue to seek answers until the necessary changes are made so that this never happens again.”
