Congressman Edwards releases statement on electing Speaker of the House

Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) issued the following statement today after the U.S. House of Representatives elected Congressman Kevin McCarthy (CA-20) as Speaker of the House.

Edwards commented, “One of the many things that makes our country great is the freedom to debate ideas. Sometimes that process can look messy, yet that is how our Founding Fathers intended it to be to bring about the best outcomes for our citizens.

“Now it’s time to focus on delivering to the American people the House Republicans’ Commitment to America – from strengthening our borders to restoring our economy – to ensure a strong, safe and prosperous nation for current and future generations in Western North Carolina, in our state, and in our nation.”
